Office Assistant / Bookkeeper

Job Title: Office Assistant / Bookkeeper

Job Purpose/Description:

Seeking trustworthy, self-starting, and enthusiastic team member for general office administration and bookkeeping duties, including but not limited to payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, general bookkeeping, and general office duties. Must be willing to help when and where needed and have excellent communication skills. An understanding of QuickBooks is preferred as limited training is available on the job. Must have an excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel. An understanding of Microsoft Word is also preferred. Candidate must be able to work 45 hours per week and offer additional assistance whenever necessary. Schedule is flexible, but must be approved by supervisor.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Maintain efficient accounting and filing systems used for the company while entering data accurately, promptly and efficiently into QuickBooks.
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable duties: prepare invoices, process bills, process checks, checkbook reconciliation, credit card statement reconciliation, and other financial duties.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and associated payroll payments. Track employees’ time in accordance with employee handbook (i.e., PTO days, bonus days, etc.). Process unemployment compensation requests from the state and handle employee questions pertaining to payroll related issues.
  • Ensure all accounting information is to the Accountant in an accurate and timely manner for the monthly closing process and at other times throughout the year as requested by CPA firm.
  • Manage all compliance reporting, including sales & use tax reporting, payroll reporting, etc.
  • Provide project specific support when necessary: job cost reports, prepare proposals, contracts, inventory lists for jobs, and bid documents.
  • Receive phone calls and greet customers.
  • Handles all sensitive material with the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience:

  • Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
  • Must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong customer-service attitude for internal and external customers
  • Good planning and organizational skills, good communication (oral and written), detail-oriented, efficient, pro-active, accurate
  • Professionalism with strong work ethic and excellent attendance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
  • Background in Construction desired, but not required

Concrete Crew Laborer

Position Summary: Assist the Concrete Foreman/Supervisor in all aspects of job: reading blueprints, plans and specifications, assisting subcontractors, etc. Perform associated tasks involving physical labor; lifting; operation of hand and power tools of all types; running of equipment, ensure site is clean and safe by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Read materials lists to ensure the proper materials are loaded and taken to the jobsite. Perform other duties as assigned by Concrete Foreman/Supervisor and/or Concrete Lead Men.

Skills/Qualifications: Attention to Detail, Quality Focus, Able to Lift Heavy Objects, Teamwork, Technical Skills, Dependability, Initiative, Strong Work Ethic, Problem Solving Skills. Experience in concrete forming and flatwork a plus, but not necessary. Willing to train if you are willing to learn.

Pay Range: Wages will vary on experience

Carpenter/Erection Laborer

Position Summary: Assist the Construction Foreman and Lead Men in all aspects of job: reading blueprints, plans and specifications, assisting subcontractors, etc. Erecting structures involving physical labor; lifting; operation of hand and power tools of all types; running of equipment, ensuring site is clean and safe by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.Read materials lists to ensure the proper materials are loaded and taken to the jobsite. Perform other duties as assigned by Foreman/Supervisor and/or Lead Men.

Skills/Qualifications: Attention to Detail, Quality Focus, Able to Lift Heavy Objects, Teamwork, Technical Skills, Dependability, Initiative, Strong Work Ethic, Problem Solving Skills. Experience in building erection a plus, but not necessary. Willing to train if you are willing to learn.

Lead Men (Concrete)

Position Summary: Assist the Concrete Foreman/Supervisor in all aspects of job: reading blueprints, plans and specifications, assisting subcontractors, etc. Assists the Concrete Foreman in accomplishing construction project results by calculating resources required; maintaining standards and protocols; assisting in allocating resources; adhering to scheduling and coordination of staff and sub-contractors as set forth by the Concrete Foreman/supervisor. Erecting structures involving physical labor; lifting; operation of hand and power tools of all types; running of equipment, ensuring the job site is clean and safe by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Performing other duties as assigned by Foreman/Supervisor.

Position Summary: Assist the Construction Foreman/Supervisor in all aspects of job: reading blueprints, plans and specifications, assisting subcontractors, etc. Assists the Construction Foreman in accomplishing construction project results by calculating resources required; maintaining standards and protocols; assisting in allocating resources; adhering to scheduling and coordination of staff and sub-contractors as set forth by the Construction Foreman/supervisor. Erecting structures involving physical labor; lifting; operation of hand and power tools of all types; running of equipment, ensuring the job site is clean and safe by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Performing other duties as assigned by Foreman/Supervisor.

Position Summary: Completes construction projects (commercial, agricultural, and residential buildings) by planning, organizing, and controlling projects; completing quality inspections; supervising sub-contractors and staff. Accomplishes construction human resource objectives by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.Ability to read blueprints, plans, specifications received for project (steel frame and/or wood frame metal clad buildings) to determine work activities, materials and scheduling. Erecting structures involving physical labor; lifting; operation of hand and power tools of all types; running of equipment, ensuring the job site is clean and safe by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Meeting operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements. Performing other duties as assigned by management.
